Nikon D40 Camera Boasts Better Design and Performance

For those who know their Nikon D-series and other Nikon image capturers, they will know that the Nikon D50 heavily influences the design of the Nikon D40 camera. The Nikon D40 borrows some design elements from the D50 and the even earlier D80. The design of the Nikon D40 may not have been original, it is still important to point out that this nifty camera has an edge on both earlier versions of the D series- this one offers a better user interface thanks to the simplicity of the presentation of controls.

The small design and construction of the D40 matches the small construction of the Canon Rebel XTi and also the Pentax K-100D. The similarity of the Nikon D40 camera and the Canon and the Pentax ends there, since from there, the D40 starts to show functionalities that cannot be seen in other cameras of the same stature.

Based on a number of reviews, the Nikon D40 registers good marks and excellent performance overall. There is no issue with the start-time since the start time of this camera is good plus the shutter lag and the wide angle of the camera is good. There is no issue with the pre-focus times too. The pre-focus times will refer to that action where you half press and holds down the shutter button just before the final exposure. And the shutter delay is almost non-existent since the delay can be at around 0.098 second. The so-called shot-to-cycle times is also nothing to sneeze at since this is good at around 0.6 seconds for the large JPEGs and the camera will capture the frames non-stop at this rate. When the noise reduction is nit used, the continuous node speed is pegged at 2.5 frames per second and if the noise reduction is on the camera will operate at a slower pace. The camera may operate at about 1.65 frames per second. For persons who wants to upload the pictures online, then it is good to know that this camera will work fast once connected to the computer, the download speed of the camera is very fast which means that the separate card reader is not a good idea.

Simply put, this Nikon D40 camera is known for better performance without the shock of the sticker price. The camera will come complete with the rechargeable battery pack with the charger. And a fully-charged battery will lasts for more than 400 shots- more than enough to satisfy your needs for the weekend.
